An accomplished classical artist rooted in the Jaipur Gharana — bringing the ancient art of Kathak to life through discipline, grace and devotion.
Surbhi Verma is a young and accomplished Kathak dancer based in Jaipur — the very birthplace of the Jaipur Gharana tradition. She holds an MA in Kathak from Bhatkhande University, Lucknow, and a BA from Gandharva University, Mumbai — two of India's most respected institutions for classical performing arts.
Trained under Kathak Guru Shweta Garg at the India International Institute of Kathak Dance & Music (IIIKDM), she carries the rigorous lineage of the Jaipur Gharana with authenticity and depth.
Her performances span prestigious cultural platforms across Rajasthan — from Darshak Sanstha's national online series to the Gulzar Violin Academy's World Dance Day, to Net-Theatre's Katha Varsha — consistently earning recognition in leading regional dailies including Rajasthan Patrika, Dainik Bhaskar and Dainik King.
"Tradition is not preserved — it is danced."
Driven by the vision to make classical dance accessible to all, Surbhi co-founded Nrityadhee — a Jaipur-based academy that blends the discipline of classical tradition with the spirit of modern expression, now active in Jaipur, Mumbai and Chennai.
